Golden Jubilee Preparation - 2012 (50 years)

Darjeeling will be celebrating Golden Jubilee in the year 2012. Preparation has begun already in 2007.  In December 2007 a symposium was organised at St. Augustine School Kalimpong where 200 people which included priests, religious and lay participants participated in it. In this Symposium the main activities and the achievement of the Darjeeling Diocese were highlighted. This was done to make people aware of where we stand at the moment and how to move to the future and thus Golden jubilee Committee was formed.

This Committee looks forwards to achieve the following goals by 2011 end.

1. Analysis of the pastoral works in each Parish by 2008 - 2010
 and completes the pastoral plan of each Parish
    
Methodology:
(i) Making people aware of the Ecclesia (The Church) for which the team has been formed.
(ii) By Implementing managerial skills  through Annugalaya Caritas Unit

Once they finish making Pastoral Plan at the Parish level, Diocesan Pastoral Council will be formed which will be making the Diocesan Plan following the same methodology mentioned above.

At the moment the History of Darjeeling Diocese is been written. In order to make it more participatory and effective many seminars on spiritual, managerial, social and economic, health issues will be conducted at all levels by the Jubilee committee.

Finally we hope to celebrate the Golden Jubilee on a concrete way.
