“Give me fish I eat one day, teach me to fish I eat everyday”, is the dictum of Fr. Albert Lobo and many of his Chelas now are earning their daily bread making use of the skills learnt from him. From watches to generators, from plumbing to wiring, carpentry to tailoring, he has the knack for all. He can undoubtedly be dubbed as the MacGyver of the Diocese (MacGyver is a character of a TV serial of the same name who has a make shift remedy for all mechanical snags) as a person Fr. Lobo is very jovial and has a good sense of humor as well. He is very well known in all the parishes, institutes and convents of the diocese for his mechanical skills. Of course the only virtue one had to have after giving him any thing to repair was patience, given the amount of gadgets that reached him for repair no wonder it took lot a time for him to work on all. As a person he is very approachable and people oriented. The Diocese of Darjeeling is indeed very fortunate to have Fr. Albert Lobo and wish him joy and satisfaction in all his endeavors.
