Bishop Stephen Lepcha blessed and inaugurated a new chapel at Sama Gaon, a sub-station of Maria Busty on 26th January. With the cooperation and hard work of the parishioners the chapel was ready in record time taking only 75 days to complete. This was the fourth chapel that Fr Paul Sitling, the parish priest has built in Maria Busty.
During the Eucharistic celebration, 88 adults received the sacrament of Confirmation. It being the Republic Day, various cultural programmes and competitions were held after the Mass. Over 500 people belonging to different faiths were present on the occasion.
